In detail
The Core Ultra 7 265K is Arrow Lake's hybrid layout. Eight P-cores take the single-threaded work, twelve E-cores absorb everything in the background: exports, indexing, containers, browser tabs. The Windows 11 scheduler places threads itself and needs no help.
In multithreaded work it is clearly quicker than eight-core parts: rendering in Premiere, building a project, running virtual machines. In games there is a gap to the dedicated gaming chips, usually a few percent, and it narrows at higher resolutions where the load moves to the graphics card.
Socket LGA1851, so a Z890 or B860 board and DDR5 memory. The multiplier is unlocked. No cooler is included, which at a 250 W peak draw is not a formality.
